ABOUT
Our group has selected to provide clinicians with an outline of various approaches to use for different speech sound diagnoses. Many SLPs mentioned how the selection and implementation of some approaches can be difficult, and often clinicians revert back to what is comfortable. Many of the approaches clinicians select are ones we are more familiar with, and not necessarily best for the client. To help alleviate the challenges that may come when choosing the best therapy approach, we will summarize the specifics of each approach as well as optimal clients for each. There are a total of four surveys for viewers to select from; diagnose of speech sound disorder, phonological interventions, articulation interventions and Childhood Apraxia interventions. The website also includes different approaches to select from depending on your client's diagnosis. It is important to note that these approaches should be used as suggestions, and one is not better than the other. It is important clinicians continue to research these diagnoses and interventions in order to be in best practice.
