Cycles Approach
Rapid Syllable Transition (ReST)

Rapid Syllable Transition Training (ReST) is an approach for children with Childhood Apraxia of Speech. It is a motor approach for CAS and is an intense intervention. This approach is based off of mass practice, and requires a high level of training by an SLP prior to implementing it. This approach has relatively strong evidence, and there are manuals online for clinicians to use as resources.
This approach is focused on the actual physical production of speech sounds and providing cues and stimuli to enable client to alter their articulators to produce targeted sounds. Polysyllabic pseudo-words are used as targets.
